Welcome to Riverview Cottage
Welcome to Skye and to Ord, a lovely village on the north shore of Sleat, the southernmost peninsula of the island and often referred to as 'the Garden of Skye'. Riverview Cottage is open year round and is located on a hill at the entrance of the village with wonderful views to the sea and mountains beyond. Skye's south west coast has some of the most dramatic sunsets, and in mid-summer the sun sets behind the mighty Cuillin Hills, often creating fires in the sky with some amazing colours. In the winter our skies are so clear making Skye one of the finest places in Scotland to study the night sky.
The cottage has all you need for a wonderful holiday in the Highlands, and is a self-contained extension to the owner's home. The sandy beach is just a three minute walk from the cottage and there are plenty of perfect walks nearby for all ages and abilities. We welcome well-behaved dogs by prior arrangement. Ord is just half an hour from the Skye Bridge or just 15 minutes from the ferry terminal at Armadale for the 30 minute crossing from Mallaig on the mainland. Our pages on the website are designed to help you plan your holiday in Skye, with so much to see and do a week may never be long enough. We have some lovely hotels, restaurants and pubs within a short distance, a great choice of shops, galleries and entertainment, amazing wildlife boat trips across Skye and Lochalsh, and even three ruined castles. Don't forget to bring the camera. Enjoy our gallery of photographs and get a taste of Skye, the 'Misty Isle'.
The availability and prices for the cottage are shown here and should you need further information at this time please don't hesitate to get in touch.
We look forward to welcoming you to Skye.
Sylvia and Norman.
